Do you like gaming? Its AMD Radeon Pro 5500M pulls its wait, with GDDR6 memory to back it up. Continue if you’re intrigued!

Why We Like It – Apple Macbook i9 16.”

The Apple Macbook i9 16” aims to do just about everything you can do with a laptop. Game? It can work with its AMD GPU. Multitask? That’s child’s play to its 9th Gen, 8-core Intel i9 CPU.

Pros
  • 8-core Intel i9 processor
  • AMD Radeon Pro 5500M GPU w/ GDDR6 memory
  • Magic Keyboard design
Cons
  • Expensive

Power & Performance

Yes, this Apple Macbook i9 16” is fit for gaming, thanks to its mobile version of the AMD Radeon Pro 5500M. Titles like League of Legends and Overwatch can be played on medium settings, in part because of the ninth generation Intel Core i9. Its CPU is also built for multitasking, due to having eight cores to funnel information—much better than a quad core Intel Core i7 could. You can also check   Apple Macbook Pro i7 15” with 9th Gen 6-core Intel Core i7.

Battery

Many features are jammed inside the Apple Macbook i9 16”, including a Touch Bar, Touch ID, and additional hardware. That’s taxing on the battery, so you should expect around 11 hours on a full charge. Not quite as good as the nearly 20 hours newer Apple Macbook Pro M1 13” are pushing, but still pretty good, given its performance.

Ports & Expandability

If you were hoping to expand on RAM or replace internal storage, you’re sadly mistaken; this 16-inch Macbook Pro i9 can’t have the SSD storage swapped out. It’s the same with the Apple Macbook Pro M1 13″. Another unfortunate aspect is the lack of ports, other than an audio jack and four Thunderbolt 3 ports.

Build Quality

You can find Apple Macbook Pro 13 Inch models from a few years back still using a near identical design. Is it boring? It wasn’t then, and it still isn’t now. It’s sleek, ultrathin, and tough, and we commend the Apple Macbook i9 16” for continuing that tradition.

Value

The Apple Macbook i9 16” is packing more heat than the Apple Macbook Air 13, but boy is it expensive. It’s packed with a dedicated GPU, great CPU, and multitasking potential, but far out of reach of the average college student. The GPU and CPU combo alone could be soldered to a Windows laptop for $1000 less than what’s being asked.

Apple Macbook i9 16” Wrap Up.

The Apple Macbook i9 16” is a serious powerhouse—an expensive one at that, however. It isn’t surprising when you stop considering it has an AMD Radeon Pro 5500M and 9th gen Intel Core i9 running the show. Both open up so much potential for fun and work, in addition to typing on a good-feeling Magic Keyboard.
